Dr Zhi Ling Zeng returns and accepts a Partnership at Lord and Company

Zhi Ling is a brilliant chemist obtaining a BSc with Honors in biochemistry and chemistry from the University of Western Australia. She then furthered her career obtaining a PhD in Bio-analytical chemistry from the University of Queensland and continued to work at the university as a Research Fellow.
Her interest in innovation was always there, so when she saw Lord and Company’s advert for a position of Technical Assistant in their Patent and Trademarks Attorneys firm in the early 2000s, she jumped at it and secured the position. She integrated perfectly into the team and with their help and her hard work she obtained her MSc in Intellectual Property. After working for 7 years for Lord and Company she wanted to broaden her horizon by working overseas. The first step was Singapore, followed by Beijing and then closer to home: Auckland New Zealand.
Whilst working internationally, Zhi Ling has drafted patent applications for the world’s leading research institutions and handled the patent portfolios of major chemical, pharmaceutical, animal health, food and beverage and polymer products companies. She has also advised clients on freedom-to-operate and patent infringement and validity issues relating to pharmaceutical, food, alloy/steel and fabric coating compositions. In addition, Zhi Ling has secured design and copyright right registrations for small to medium enterprises in countries such as China and New Zealand.
Zhi Ling’s extensive and unique experience puts her in a strong position to advise clients on local and international IP issues.
She is a Registered Patent & Trade Mark Attorney – Australia and New Zealand

She is a member of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys Australia, New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys and Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
Everyone at Lord and Company is happy that she came back to Perth and she accepted the Partner position offered by Kelvin Lord, Principal-owner of the company founded in 1979.
