Matthew Skewes BEng(Hons), MSc

Mathew graduated as an honours student from Monash University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and went on to gain hands on experience working in an engineering role within the industrial manufacturing sector.

An interest in continued learning led taking on post graduate studies at the University of Melbourne where he completed a Master of Science whilst working as a specialist technician calibrating and repairing medical equipment within the public and private healthcare sector. Matthew subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Education and taught in a Victorian rural school setting for a number of years before seeking new challenges in the West.

Matthew joined Lord & Company in 2008 working as a technical assistant filing and prosecuting local and international patents, trade marks and designs.  During this time he undertook further studies graduating in 2012 with a Masters of Industrial Property, qualifying as a Patent and Trade Marks Attorney

In his role as an attorney at Lord & Company,  Matthew draws on his broad background experience as an engineer, technician and educator to work with Clients to advise and assist them in customising their approach to obtaining and enforcing intellectual property rights for protecting inventions, brands and designs.
