Lord and Company Celebrates 30 Years of Service
Lord and Company has just celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Kelvin Lord, Principal, began his career in intellectual property working in the patent department of Kodak Limited in London prior to moving to Australia. After sojourns in Sydney and Melbourne and qualification in Australia, Kelvin recognised that there was a business opportunity in far away Perth, Western Australia. In 1979 he moved his young family to the West and set up his own practice. For financial reasons the business was initially conducted from his home in Balcatta: Lord and Company was born!
In 1980 he became a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and opened an office in West Perth where he has been ever since. Kelvin was accepted as a fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute in 2000. He has always been an active RACI member, serving on the committee and giving many presentations at scientific seminars and conferences advising chemists and scientists how to protect their Intellectual Property. Lord and Company are regular sponsors of the RACI WA Newsletter and Events.
Today, Lord and Company employs a specialised team with diverse technical disciplines: Zhi Ling ZENG, PhD in chemistry, Matthew Skewes, Mechanical Engineering, Daniel Taylor, Electronics and Software, Grainne Smith, Biotechnology.
